Paw prints

Bast Cat
bats her

cosmic egg

I keep her
brother

prisoner

in my cottage
by the forest

where he
looks out

upon the trees.

He grins
at me

I am not a prisoner
Mama

The body is
but a shell

The wind rustles
the leaves

he dances with
nature

without
leaving the sill.
